Umar Ganduje defeats Gen. Jafaru in Kano APC Gubernatorial primaries

It was walk over for All Progressive Congress consensus candidate, Alhaji Umar Ganduje who pulled a resounding victory over the former military Governor of Kaduna state, General Jafaru Isa in a keenly contested primary on Thursday night in Kano.

Kano All Progressive Congress stakeholders had last week announced Dr Ganduje as the census candidate for the 2015 Gubernatorial race for the party after a marathon meeting and further directed aggrieved individual to brace up for election.

Ganduje who is the incumbent Governor of Kano state slugged it out at the Kano Indoor stadium for the sole ticket of the All Progressive Congress with die hard General Buhari loyalist, Brigadier General Lawan Jaafaru Isa, former National Party of Nigeria stalwart, Alhaji Usman Alhai and the Deputy minority leader of the House of Representative, AbdulRahaman Kawu Sumaila.

The outcome result announced on Friday morning by the APC official declared that, Ganduje won the race by 5,588 votes, while General Jaafar Isa came a distant second with 120 votes.

The official announced that both the House minority leader, Alhaji Kawau Sumaila and Usman Alhai withdrew from the race.
