Elder statesman, businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata has told the All Progressives Congress Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima on Tuesday that he is waiting and ready to depart the world.
Dantata spoke at his Kano residence when Shettima paid a courtesy visit to seek his blessings and advice ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Shettima was accompanied by Gov. Ganduje, members of state and national assembly and other APC stalwarts.
But the 91-year old business shocked his guests that he is ready to depart the world as he was no longer enjoying himself.
He noted that most of the friends he made while travelling around Nigeria as a young man have departed the world.
Dantata, who is the uncle of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote also asked for forgiveness from those he has offended
“I have travelled to all the states in Nigeria and I have done things with people across all states, many were friends but sadly, of all the people I know, I hardly can call out 10 that are still alive.
“Honestly, as I am right now, I am just waiting for my time. I no longer enjoy life anymore. I hope I depart this world in good faith.
“I hope I did not offend anyone in life. If I offended anyone, I hope they find it in their hearts to forgive me. If anybody has offended me, I have forgiven them.
He said; “I am now the only one left in my family living with grandchildren.”
Aside Dantata, Shetimma also visited elder statesmen including Gwadabe (Fmr Minister of Labour, Employment and Productivity), Gen Lawan Jafaru Isah (Military Governor, Kaduna State), Alhaji Tanko Yakassi in their residences.
