PSCN celebrates 15 years of PDP, says party grown into solid democratic institution

A group, PDP Core Suppliers Network (PCSN) yesterday unveiled chain of activities to celebrate the 15 years of existence of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) saying that the party has grown from a mere political party into a solid democratic institution.

Speaking at the anniversary’s pre- press conference in Abuja, the Chairman Media and Publicity sub-committee Darlington Raymond said, since 1998, only the Party has remained the same, resolute and committed to building a strong institution for the country.

Raymond explained that the Party in collaborate with PDP Core Suppliers Network (PCSN) Global Network for Peace in Nigeria (GNPN) and PDP Social Media Group (PDPSMG) to honour some outstanding and dedicated members.

“Having recognized this enviable feast achieved so far by the party, couldn’t have been possible without the efforts of some dedicated and loyal party members, we have agreed that some individuals from the grassroots to the very top who have been standing solidly behind the party should and must be recognized and honoured.

“In view of the aforementioned, the likes of President GoodLuck Jonathan, Vice President Arch. Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, Alh. Adamu Mu’azu, Chief Ton Anenih, Dr. Amadu Ali, Chief Arthur Eze, Emeka Ofor, Arc. Mike Onolememen, Udah Azubuko DIG (RTD), Gov. Babangida Aliyu, Gov. Shehu Shema, Gov. Ayo Fayose , Barrister Deacon Sergius Ogun and many other who have not been mentioned will be specially recorgnised and honoured at the event,” the chairman said.

Since the inception of democratic dispensation in 1999, which the process actually began in 1998 with the formation of PDP and other political parties, the Committee Secretary Barrister Alaeto Maxwell said the ruling party has steered the ship of the Country to the present democratic stability.

Maxwell explained “we have watched with kin interest how the ruling party has steered the ship of this great country, Nigeria to her current democratic stability even from it nascent period.

“We have seen how the party has gone through tick and tin, how it has gone through some internal wrangling, even some that shook the party to the very fabric of its existence but the party came out strong, bigger and better.”
