Hoodlums invades Imo Commissioner for Youths and Sport's country home, others

Giantly  armed hoodlums suspected to be members of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) on Tuesday burnt the country home of Imo Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Emeka Okoronkwo.
The incident occurred at Amagu Ihube community in the Okigwe Local Government Area of the state.
It was learnt the hoodlums also burnt the country home of one Barrister Obinna Obiaraeri and a retired Director of the Department of Security Service (DSS) Emeka Ngwu.
Both incidents occurred in Okigwe LGA.
Sources told CEOAFRICA that three persons were feared dead during the incidents but the police confirmed only an elderly woman in Ngwu’s house when the hoodlums burnt the house died.
Okoronkwo confirmed the incident to the newsmen. Imo Police spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye, also confirmed the attack to The Nation.
He said:  “On 21/02/2023 at about 0530hrs, IPOB and its armed affiliate ESN miscreants attacked and burnt the house of the following at Ihube, Okigwe. Barr. Obinna Obigeri ‘m’, Emeka Okoronkwo ‘m’ the Commissioner for Youth and Sport Imo State, Barr Chukwu Emeka Jude Ngwu the Former director of State Service DSS while One Grace Ngwu ‘f’ who was in the House of the former director during the attack was burnt beyond recognition.
”The preliminary investigation is ongoing.  Intelligence intensified to unravel the identity of this dastardly act of arrest and bring them to justice. Case will be transferred to State CID for discrete investigations.”
