State chapter of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has debunked claims that it had collapsed its structure to support the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the ruling party.
Nasir Adewale Bolaji, Lagos State chairman of the ADP, in a press statement on Thursday, noted that its attention has been drawn to some online publications in the media space purporting to claim that their great party, ADP in Lagos State, has collapsed its structures in support of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
He said, “The said piece of news, which was credited to one Mobolaji Olusegun, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) chairman for Lagos State, who claimed to represent South-West Alliance of Registered Political Parties, is totally false and an attempt to distract our great party.
“While we acknowledge the fact that ADP is a major political party to reckon with in Lagos State, as recognised and pointed out in said publications, we vehemently oppose and abhor the use of our party’s name by political jobbers.
He added, “We want to make it clear that ADP did not and will not collapse its structures into any other political party.
Furthermore, ADP Lagos State is not aware of the existence of any South-West Alliance of Registered Political Parties and so, could not have had anything to do with a bunch of unscrupulous Nitwits.
“ADP Lagos State hereby urges its members, supporters and well-wishers not to be distracted by the fake news by the fake Alliance but to remain focused on the federal elections billed for February 25, 2023.
“We are unwavering in our total and unflagging support for all ADP candidates in the forthcoming elections,” he added.
