As Nigerians prepare to cast their votes on Saturday, February 25, a Non-Governmental group, the Aviary Club of Nigeria, ACN, has reminded citizens that the task of Nation building remains the collective effort of all.

The group believes that after the election results are announced, Nigerians should be able to maintain peaceful coexistence to allow the winner to settle down for the business of governance.

A statement signed and made available to journalists, by the head, Global Public Relations Director, ACN, Hon Agomini Babatunde Martins urged citizens to elect the best hands across party lines.

Hon Agomini argued that as a country with diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, endowed with great human and material resources, It is their sincere hope that citizens whose credibility and competence are not in doubt are elected.

He said, “We need candidates with proven records in the act of governance and management of human and material resources and transparency in handling government responsibilities and protection of citizens and promotion of economic development “.

He added, “On this note, we appeal to all citizens to shun acts of violence against fellow citizens during the election process and to promote peaceful conduct during this period”.

While calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to stick with the responsibility of conducting a free, fair, and credible election as expected by all, he admonished the eventual Presidential winner to consider all-inclusive governance to douse impending violence in the aftermath of the election.
