Tottenham have confirmed the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new manager on a four-year deal.

The 57-year-old, who guided Celtic to the domestic treble this year, has been given the keys to one of football’s toughest jobs and will be tasked with overseeing a huge rebuild in North London.

Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte have all failed to build on the foundations laid by Mauricio Pochettino and now attention turns to the Australian.

Born in Athens, the seasoned tactician has been in management for over 25 years.

Postecoglou has a rich history in Japan and Down Under, winning multiple domestic trophies and thriving as part of the City Group.

His links to Manchester City have inspired his attacking philosophy and most of his teams mirror the style of play that is implemented by Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions.

Celtic enjoyed a dominant Scottish Premiership campaign under Postecoglou, scoring 114 goals and conceding just 34 times.

But life will be much more complicated in England and one of his first tasks at Tottenham will be to sit down with Harry Kane and convince him to stay.
