The senator-elect representing Kano South, Jibrin Barau, has emerged as the Senate Deputy President unopposed.

His emergence followed his nomination by the former Governor of Ebonyi State and senator-elect, David Umahi (Ebonyi South).

A member-elect (Kwara North), Salisu Mustapha, supported the nomination.

Barau accepted the nomination and emerged as the Deputy Senate President of the 10th Assembly unopposed.

Recall that on the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday was elected President of the Senate, CEOAFRICA had reported.
