Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, has insisted that Victor Osimhen would stay on with the team for next season as he still has two years remaining on his current contract.

ADL spoke to Sky Sport Italia on Thursday afternoon following the signing of midfielder Jens Cajuste from Stade de Reims, but the topic of conversation soon switched to Osimhen’s contractual situation. “Osimhen is staying, he has another two years of contract, where else does he go?,” De Laurentiis said to the reporters.

“We have contracts, and they must always be respected by both parties because it’s a two-way relationship. “As long as there is transparency, then yes, he always gets on well and with Osimhen there is transparency in every instance. Stay calm.

”Following a remarkable season in which Napoli were crowned Serie A Champions for the first time in over 30 years, largely thanks to Osimhen’s 26-goal Golden Boot winning contribution, there have been a series of negotiations over a contract extension for the Nigerian.

There have also been a number of transfer links to several of Europe’s ‘top’ clubs, although a move to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United or Chelsea has not materialised. Osimhen is, however, subject of interest from Saudi Arabia, where it has been reported that he could earn 10 times his current salary.

Now though, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that there is optimism surrounding the situation and that Napoli and Osimhen have never been closer to an agreement over a new deal.
