The Nigeria Police Force on Christmas day disrupted the gathering of BringBackOurGirls protesters at the Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja

The policemen barricaded the Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja with their vehicles at the junction to the Presidential Villa and prevented the protester from advancing from the National Assembly Gate to the Presidential Villa.

Some of the protesters who spoke to our correspondents condemned the nonchalant attitude by members of the national assembly to finding a solution to this problem.

The Co-coordinators of the group, Oby Ezekwesili said, “The lawmakers should be ashamed for going on break while the Chibok girls are with wicked men in the bush.”

Another member of the group, Bukky Shonibare, stated she just returned from delivering relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons in Yola, Adamawa State, noting that 98 per cent of the IDPs are not living in government but with private families.

“Only 6,500 IDPs are living in government camps, the rest, about 500,000 people are staying with private families in Yola and they are really suffering. We took relief materials to them and they were just crying, they have no clothes, no blankets, some of them sleep on bare ground.

“What happened to the billions raised for the Victim Support Fund? What happened to the Victim Support Fun.
