Senate President, David Mark has once again pleaded with Nigerians to remain united in order to collectively fight and defeat the Boko Haram terrorists who are the common enemy of the nation.

Mark noted that the activities of Boko Haram clearly show that they do not represent anything good or religious inclination but purely extremists pursuing anti-people agenda.

Mark, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, on Monday, stated this in Otada near Otukpo, Benue State.

Mark pleaded with the perpetrators of violence and killings to give peace a chance.

He said, “What Nigerians earnestly desire now is peace, love and unity to heal the wounds inflicted on us by insurgents and Boko Haram adherents.”

The Senate president also implored all Nigerians to resort to prayers against forces of evil and that the people must not allow the evil doers to succeed.

Mark said, “With prayers, God will put the insurgents to shame. The issue of security is not a matter for politics but an issue that demands our cooperation and action to tackle.”
