Vice President Namadi Sambo has demanded for at least two million votes from his home state, Kaduna, for President Goodluck Jonathan in the next year’s presidential election.

Speaking during a family meeting of the Kaduna chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kawo, Kaduna on Sunday night, he was confident that with the overwhelming support the PDP enjoys in the state, the votes were assured.

Noting that he expected 100 per cent Kaduna votes for the ruling party in other elective positions in the state, Sambo stated: “Kaduna State PDP is the same and one strong family, and I am happy for the promise they have kept and for the promise they have made to us, that Insha Allah, PDP is Kaduna State and Kaduna State is PDP and PDP will win the elections come 2015.

Sambo expressed the gratitude of President Jonathan to Kaduna PDP for their support during the recently conducted National convention, adding that the president was also delighted with the rancour free primaries held in the state for all electives posts.

Counselling those who felt aggrieved over the just concluded primaries, Sambo said “we believe that there are no losers, no winners and no vanquished and everybody will be carried along.

“Everyone of our party member that participated in our primaries agrees that it is only one person that can be a winner and they have agreed to cooperate and work together.”

He, therefore, enjoined all PDP members in the state to join hands and work assiduously for the victory of the party in the 2015 polls, adding “this meeting has confirmed to me clearly and truly that we are the same strong indivisible family.”

Speaking earlier, Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Yero, explained that the party had held productive discussions with aggrieved members at the state level.

“We have been sitting with all of them in order to rub minds and also create understanding and ensure the unity of the members of the party, so that we can face the 2015 election,” he said.

In a related development, Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo has collected his Permanent Voter Card (PVC) with a call on Nigerians to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the 2015 elections.

The Vice President collected his PVC on Monday at the INEC distribution centre located at the Kaduna North Local Government Secretariat, Magajin Gari, Kaduna, Kaduna State.

He was accompanied by the Kaduna State governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and received by the Kaduna State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Haliru Aliyu Tambuwal.

The vice president while praying for the peaceful conduct of the general election pledged that the administration was determined to deliver free and fair elections.

He said “I am highly pleased that this morning, I collected my INEC PVC. I will seize this opportunity to call on all Nigerians to have a peaceful election come 2015.”
