Omojola assures resident of South-west maximum security

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of south west zone, David Omojola has assured the people of south west of maximum security during New Year festivity.

The DIG gave the assurance in a telephone chat with CEOAFRICA correspondent. He stated that special units of the Force which will include; Police Mobile Force, Special Protection Unit, Counter Terrorism Unit, Explosive Ordinance Department, Dog Section and Mounted Troop would be deployed as part of measures to ensure water-tight security.

The DIG noted that the Christmas period was rancour-free. He stated that the police will not relent and be carried away by the success achieved during Christmas but will step up its effort to ensure safety in the New Year.

Omojola said that strategic positions such as churches, market places, parks and event centres will be well manned by men of the force.

The DIG enjoined citizens to be law abiding and to comport themselves in an orderly manner in the festive season. He however urged the people to be very vigilant throughout this festive period and report suspicious movement and persons to the nearest police station.
