Governor Bala James Ngilari of Adamawa State has endorsed Mallam Nuhu Ribadu’s candidature, pledging that his administration will support him in the forthcoming 2015 general election.

The governor made his stand known on Tuesday while receiving Ribadu at the Government House, Yola, saying that he and his supporters had agreed to rally round Ribadu in order to ensure the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) wins the state in the coming general election.

He said the state chapter of the party would work together to ensure that the party remains in power and controls the affairs of the state.

The governor said the candidature of Ribadu was a divine providence hence he had decided to receive it in good faith. He added that with a well-entrenched person like him, it would not be difficult for the party to retain its seat in the state.

“As a party member, one has to take anything that comes in good faith and therefore we are going to work together to ensure victory in the forthcoming election,” Ngilari said.

He noted that the stakeholders of the party in the state cannot not afford to see the party lose the number one seat of the state, adding that it was the party with the right manifesto that would give the masses a better deal.

Responding, Ribadu promised to carry all aggrieved members of the party alone for the success of the party in 2015.

“As for me, all PDP aspirants and other members of the party are equal. People know me as a hard working person and I will use my wealth of experience to transform the state if elected in 2015.

“I am therefore calling on the party members to forget the past for the success of the party,”

He disclosed that  he had since started making contact and consultations with other stakeholders that might have been aggrieved on the need to sheathe their swords and rally support for PDP’s victory.

“This is a family affair and our main aim is to develop the state in whatever capacity we could.

“We are in the spirit of development and will work harder for the success of the party.”

He commended the governor for his faith in the party, adding that as the leader of the party in the state, he has confidence that Ngilari would lead the campaign train of the party to success.
