2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has engaged in a series of visits, and charitable works upon his visit to Kano State.

The Former Governor of Anambra State, who has recently been on a nationwide tour, visited the ancient city of Kano on Monday, as shared on his official page on X (formerly called Twitter).

Obi stated that his first stop was to honour an invitation by the Proprietor of Skyline University Kano, a pioneering privately owned institution in the city, adding that the visit underscored the importance of the private sector investment in education and further to highlight the potential for collaboration among private institutions to enhance quality education in the Northern region.

According to him, he urged the Northern people to reconsider sending their children to study abroad at a very high cost, rather, to consider established institutions in Nigeria.

The Business mogul and billionaire also mentioned his courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, as a gesture of respect to the revered monarch and the Tumbin Giwa people. Thereafter, he continued to commission a borehole in Dandalin, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State, which he constructed as a token of contribution to the people.

“In addition to providing vital access to clean water for the community. I also extended a small cash assistance to approximately 100 individuals in need, reaffirming our commitment to uplifting the less privileged members of our society,” he said.

He also noted the “shared fellowship in breaking of the fast during the holy month of Ramadan” with the Muslim faithful at the Alansar Juma’at Mosque, Fagge, describing it as respect for the religious and cultural traditions of the region.

"Overall, our visit to Kano during this Ramadan season was characterized by acts of service, collaboration, and mutual respect. Through our collective efforts, we continue to inspire positive change and foster unity across Nigeria," he concluded.
