FCAH&PT Ibadan begins 60th Anniversary with Awareness Show, Stakeholders’ Visit (Photos)

The streets of Ibadan, capital of Oyo State was agog with music and a lot of dancing from students and staff of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology Ibadan, as the 60th anniversary celebration began on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Starting off the diamond jubilee anniversary of the college of animal health was road show and awareness activities held across the main roads and streets of the state capital, with students on bikes, vehicles, and horses. As a form of attraction to invite their immediate community to the one-week anniversary, the excited students and staff shared flyers to passersby, riders of motorcycles and vehicles on the roads.

During the road awareness show, the students also took time to advertise the current programmes offered in the school such as, National Diploma (ND) in Animal Health and Production Technology, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Fisheries Technology, Statistics, Computer Science and Veterinary Laboratory Technology. Others are Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Health Technology, Animal Production Technology, Agricultural Extension, Statistics, Fisheries Technology, among others. Many vocational trainings and services are also offered in the school.

Dr. Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, the Provost of the college, who was part of the road awareness show also led the management staff on a reminder visit to the Oyo State’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development headed by the commissioner, Barrister Sunkanmi Olaleye.

Addressing the college Provost and his team, the commissioner represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs C. A. Abioye, congratulated them on the auspicious occasion of their anniversary, explaining that in these current times of food insecurity, the government is on the journey to ensure food sustainability in Oyo State so much that it will become the food hub for Nigeria, therefore urging the college staff to join hands with the government.

The Souvenir of the 60th anniversary was also presented to the ministry as the college staff expressed their anticipation of the attendance of the ministry staff led by the Commissioner at the occasion.
