
Kwara House of Assembly
The Kwara State House of Assembly has constituted four special committees and 10 standing committees for the house.
The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad, who made the announcement, said the constitution of the committees was to facilitate actualisation of legislative businesses of the eighth parliament.
The Rules and Business Committee has Majority Leader Hassan Oyeleke as its chairman and Hon Umar Mohammed Gunu, Hon Segilola Abdulkadir and Hon Felicia Owolabi as members, while House Service Committee is to be chaired by Hon Sikirat Anako; its members include Hon Mohammed Ba'aziki Suleiman, Hon Abdulrafiu Abdulrahman and Hon Aishat Ibrahim.
Public Petition Committee is to be chaired by Hon Emmanuel Folorunsho, while its members are Hon Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, Hon Mathew Babaoye and Hon Mohammed Amosa Mobolaji. Similarly, Hon Abdulrasheed Abdullahi would chair Public Account Committee; its members include Hon Adamu Usman, Hon Hassan Oyeleke and Hon Kamaldeen Fagbemi.
Hon Ishiaku Aliyu Adams is to chair Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee with Hon Saheed Popoola, Hon Hon Shuiab Abdulkadir and Hon Jimoh Abdulrahman as members, while Hon Moshood Bakare is to head Finance and Approbation Committee; its members are Hon Shuiab Abdulkadir, Hon Emmanuel Folorunsho and Hon Segilola Abdulkadir.
The Committee on Education and Human Capital Development is to be chaired by Hon Adebayo Mohammed which its membership comprises Hon Umar Gunu Mohammed, Hon Saheed Popoola and Hon Mohammed Amosa Mobolaji, while the Committee on Commerce, Industry and Women Affairs is to be chaired by Aishat Ibrahim and members are Hon Sikirat Anako, Hon Shuiab Abdulkadir and Hon Abdulrasheed Abdullahi.
Energy, Works and Transport Committee would be headed by Hon Mathew Babaoye, while its membership comprises Hon Umar Gunu Mohammed, Hon Hassan Oyeleke and Hon Mohammed Amosa Mobolaji. Also, Hon Saheed Popoola is to chair House Committee on Social Development, Youth, Sports and Information and it has Hon Adebayo Mohammed, Hon Abdulrafiu Abdulrahman and Hon Afolayan Musa Moses as members.
Health and Environment Committee is to be chaired by Hon Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, while its members include Hon Afolayan Musa Moses, Hon Moshood Bakare and Hon Abdulrafiu Abdulrahman. Similarly, Ethics, Privilege, Public Service and Judiciary would be headed by Barrister Kamaldeen Fagbemi, while its membership comprises Hon Afolayan Musa Moses, Hon Abdulrasheed Abdullahi and Hon Mathew Okedare.
Hon Adamu Usman was appointed to chair Lands, Housing and Urban Development Committee which has Hon Emmanuel Folorunsho, Hon Mathew Okedare and Hon Felicia Owolabi as members.
House Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development would be chaired by Hon Jimoh Akanni Abdulrahman, while Hon Mohammed Ba'aziki Suleiman, Hon Ebun Owolabi, Hon Segilola Abdulkadir and Hon Kamaldeen Fagbemi would serve as members.
Dr Ahmad, therefore, charged the committee members to be committed to the responsibilities they are saddled with for the betterment of the state.
