Makinde commissions new officers’ transit camp in Ibadan

The Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Thursday, 5th of November, 2020 commissioned a new officers’ transit camp in 2 Division Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment Odogbo Ibadan, Oyo State.

Speaking at the occasion, the governor expressed his gratitude to God who had brought the project to a finish adding that it would be of great benifits to the officers.

Governor Makinde commended  the level of professionalism and nationalism being displayed by the Nigerian Army while on election and other political assignments within the country, showed that there is still hope for the country.

Governor Makinde noted that the Army has, by its recent conduct, proven its mettle as a nationalistic institution.

The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General AB Omozoje speaking at the ceremony said the project was inspired by the examplary leadership of the Chief of Army staff towards improving troops welfare.

He added that the project would  ease accomodation issues.

"with the completion of the newly constructed transit camp, i have no doubts that this would accomodate more officers in this division who are currently not properly quartered and further ease accommodation challenge,"he said.

The event had in attendance the Olowu of Owu Kuta, Oba Hamid Adekunle Makama, former Chief of Defence Staff, General Alani Akinrinade (rtd), former Lagos State Military Administrator, Brigadier General Raji Rasaki (rtd), Chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Senator Hosea Agboola, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, COMPOL Fatai Owoseni (rtd) and a host of others.
