The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Professor, Chinedum Peace Babalola, has disclosed that the university is set to begin verification exercise for its new Faculty of Law that will kick off in 2021 session.

Professor Babalola made this disclosure during an exclusive interview with CEOAfrica at the 2nd convocation ceremony of the university.

She added that the university, though relatively new, was able to start the Basic Medical Sciences faculty and got verification by the NUC.

“At first, NUC did not give us full verification but I took it up because I believe we have what it takes. When I found out from them what the gap was, we were able to fix it in two weeks and we got full verification. I did not take ‘no’ for an answer when most people would have accepted”, she said.

The university’s convocation ceremony saw the graduation of 28 students, amongst whom were five first class graduates who were all female.

Speaking on this fact, the VC said that it was an evidence of the saying that “what a man can do, a woman can do, if not better”.

She said; “We have given opportunity for women to be educated and so now, we are getting the results. When women do things, they are more committed; they are more serious- minded.”

“But I was glad that in one of the departments, I think Economics, the best graduating student is a male. Even though he did not make a first class, that’s something”, she added.

Speaking on how her administration was able to accomplish all that it has, she said; “I have this motto that what is worth doing is worth doing well and I try to work extra hard in whatever I am committed in”.
