Chrisland University, Ogun State, has received seasoned health professionals, Dr. Femi Awosika and Dr. Matthew Heckman, who paid a visit to the university to assess its existing facilities and pave the way for the introduction of Medicine and other medical programmes.
The recent visit by the duo was a strategic move aimed at enhancing the institution’s academic offerings and overall campus experience.
Led by Dr Femi Awosika, a member of the varsity’s Board of Trustees, the team conducted an in-depth evaluation of the University's infrastructure at the College of Basic Medical Sciences (COBAMS), its resources and potential areas of expansion. They, however, rated the school high in terms of infrastructure and quality of ongoing educational research, advising the need for progress and sustainability.
As part of the Visit, the team had a stop at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where the students of the College engage in clinical training.
Recall that CEOAFRICA reported the excellent performance of the institution at the verification and accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Some of the programmes accredited by the NUC under the College of Basic Medical Sciences to includes Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, Pharmacy, Anatomy, and Physiology, among others.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola assured the professional programmes offered by the school, will enrich the academic landscape, attract top-tier talents and position the University as a hub of innovation and excellence.
Awosika and Heckman were received by the Chancellor, High Chief Dr Winifred Awosika and the management team of the University. Dr. Olufemi Awosika specializes in internal medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, while Dr Matthew Heckman is a family medicine specialist in Lancaster, PA and has over 11 years of experience in the medical field.
