The National Chairman, Clinical Pharmacists Association of Nigeria (CPAN), Dr. Joseph Madu, FPCPharm, PhD, FPSN, has recently released and launched his first book titled “Guide to Interpretation & ABC of Routine Clinical Tests Usage”.

With target readers being healthcare professionals who take care of patients directly such as clinical Pharmacists, Nurses, Physicians or Medical Doctors, Pharmacy schools and students, the book is a must have reference material for health professionals.

The book was unveiled and launched at the 2nd International Scientific Conference, Eko Akete 2024 of CPAN, by a former Minister of Health, Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi FPSN, OFR, mni; Special Adviser on Health to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Mrs. Kemi Ogunyemi; and a founding father of Clinical Pharmacy in Nigeria, Dr. Evbade Arigbe-Osula GCPAN, FPSN, FPCPharm, among other health industry leaders in Nigeria.

The President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Professor Cyril Odianose Usifoh, immediate past President of the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in The Americas (NAPPSA) and the President of the West African Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (WASPEN), Dr. Teresa Isichei Pounds; and Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, were also in attendance at the occasion.

Expressing his excitement at the book launch, Dr. Madu noted that it is his first book and he made consultations with eminent personalities in the industry like the first Professor of Clinical Pharmacy in Nigeria, Professor Aguwa, before going ahead with the publication.

As the title reads, the book makes the interpretation, ordering, application and understanding of the implications of routine clinical tests values and results as simple as the ABC alphabets. The author, Dr. Joseph Madu, is a Consultant, Certified Pharmacy Educator, as well as a Certified Healthcare Administrator.
