Chairman Mobilization Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West, Prince Buruji Kashamu, has said that a former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel was his political associate.

“We are comfortable with each other and the fact that he was a two-time Governor and a senior in politics qualifies him as our leader but I am a sensational and active leader,” he said.

Kashamu told newsmen that the duos were not at loggerheads, although there might be little misunderstanding between the leaders.

On the race for Ogun East Senatorial ticket, Kashamu said: “My leader, Otunba Daniel authorised me to contest based on our agreed formula-sharing. After due consultations and evaluations with party leaders and elders, given the fact that Yewa in Ogun East had been marginalised for over 30 years, Gboyega Nasri Isiaka, GNI, was proposed by Otunba Daniel as the governorship candidate and was adopted by the party leaders and elders of the three Senatorial zones which are Ogun East, Ogun West and Central.

“I then had no choice but to also lend my support. He contested against Hon. Amusan on the December 8, 2014, won and emerged as the party’s candidate.”
