An accident involving multiple vehicles occurred along the Berger-Kara axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday.
It was gathered that the accident which happened in the wee hours of Thursday involved a luxury bus, a truck and a small car.
It was gathered that the truck collided with bus suspected to belong to a transport company and a container-laden truck collided.
Though it is however not clear if any life was lost, the incident led to massive gridlock as vehicles involved in the accident blocked the road.
Also, travellers and passengers coming from Berger inward to Mowe-Ibafo were trapped in the gridlock for several hours.
It is unclear if anyone died, but some persons were said to be injured.
Speaking, Ayo Makinde, who was also caught up in the traffic, said he spent nearly two hours on what takes him 15 minutes on a normal day.
“I was in traffic for about two hours before getting into the office this morning,” he said. “A trip that will take me something about 15 minutes took me more than an hour and I am wondering how far back the traffic is now.
“Unfortunately, there was a horrible accident. This was taken much earlier in the day (displaying videos from the scene) and the traffic I ran into, just before Berger Bus-stop. It must have involved three different vehicles.”
According to some reports, three persons were injured from the accident and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Emergency responders were also on ground to handle the situation.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and police operatives were also at the scene.
