Rangers International of Enugu, on Sunday, won their eighth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title after seeing of Bendel Insurance of Benin 2-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, called The Cathedral.

Needing direct win in the event that Enyimba International and Remo Stars, the two chasing packs, fail to win, the Flying Antelopes did their job at home, beating the Benin Arsenals 2-0 while Remo Stars lost 2-1 to Sunshine Stars in Akure while Enyimba lost 2-1 to Sporting Lagos in the former Nigerian capital.

With Sunday’s result, Rangers won the 2023/2024 Nigerian topflight with a game to spare as they have 67 points, meaning they now have four points above the second placed team which cannot catch up with them in the last match.
