The Oyo state Police Command has said that only 3 people were killed in a ghastly accident along kilometre 110- Iyaganku of the Ibadan/Abeokuta Expressway late Monday night.

The state police public relations Officer, DSP Bisi Ilobanafor while speaking with CEOafrica said that though 5 people were involved in the accident 3 died instantly and 2 were immediately rescued by Good Samaritan to the University College Hospital (UCH), where they are currently receiving treatment.

The PPRO said that it is not true that 5 people died during the accident involving 2 motorcycles (okada) as both of them collided on a high speed as one of the rider was coming from Odo-Ona area of Ibadan.

According to an eye witness account the two ill-fated motor-cycles with registration number OYO KNH 527708 and LAGOS GGE 7550c were still on the middle of the expressway as at the time of filing this report.

The accident was said to have happened at about 10pm on Monday as a result of over-speeding and dangerous overtaking on the part of the Okada operator coming from Odo-Ona area of Ibadan.

One Kehinde Omotosho who spoke to our correspondnet call on the state government to begin to enforce traffic laws guiding motocycle operator so that more lives will not be endangered by reckless drivers.
