Yet another fire incident gutted the Berlin Market located behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Marina, Lagos Island Friday morning.

The market which was known for sales of second-hand clothes and shoes was burnt down but the fire was contained by efforts of the state fire service.

Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South-west, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, said they faced the challenge of accessing the scene of incident.

He also lamented that some hoodlums took advantage of the situation and pounced on the fire service personnel.

He said, "Lack of accessibility to the shanties caused serious obstacles to the operations of the fire service and emergency workers.

"Also, a fireman from the state fire service was injured in the course of the operations at Berlin market fire behind the CBN Building.

"Some urchin had confronted the fireman and was dragging the fire hose from him and he sustained serious deep limp cut."

Details shortly...
