As the year comes to an end, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Abass Disu, has announced plans for a joint security operation involving the police, military, and other agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful festive season in Abuja.
Disu, speaking after a security meeting with FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike in Abuja on Friday, revealed that the clearance operations would focus on identified high-risk areas throughout the FCT.
He reassured residents not to panic if they notice increased troop movements during the exercise. “This is part of our commitment to ensuring Abuja residents have a memorable New Year’s celebration. We are conducting joint patrols and deploying personnel to areas that previously lacked an adequate security presence,” the commissioner stated.
