President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is holding talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Wang Yi, a key figure in the Chinese government and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, arrived in Nigeria for a two-day diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

Upon his arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, he was welcomed by Dunoma Umar Ahmed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The high-level meeting is centered around reviewing the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in China.

Economic collaboration, political relations, and developments in the oil and gas sector are among the primary topics of discussion. Also present at the meeting is Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, as both nations seek to reinforce their strategic partnership.
