President Michael Sata of Zambia has declared that he would not force any region to vote for him, or any member of his party, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

This was disclosed by the president during a campaign tour to Mkaika constituency to seek support for Patriotic Front Candidate in the forth-coming by-election into the congress, David Phiri.

Mr.Sata told people of the region to vote for Phiri as a way of having their area developed. “The people need roads, hospitals, schools, but to get that, you need an MP who has access to the treasury and the president. So, I am asking you to vote for Phiri, but I will not beg you to do it because it is your area that will suffer,” he said.

The contenstants for the Mkaika Constituency by-election are Nigel Mpakateni of NAREP, David Phiri of PF, Peter Phiri of MMD and Nelson Mwale of UNIP.
