Esteemed academic Professor Isaac Olawale Albert, a leading voice in the fields of African History, Peace, Security, Humanitarian, and Conflict Studies, and the pioneer Director of the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies (IPSS) at the University of Ibadan, is set to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming NAL Dialogues Series on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Starting at 5:00pm West Africa Time, this event promises to significantly contribute to the discourse surrounding historical narratives and their implications.

Professor Albert, a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (FNAL), will present on the thought-provoking topic "Remembering, Forgetting and Denying in Strategic Historiography." His speech aims to unpack the complexities of how societies construct, reconstruct, and often manipulate historical narratives in strategic contexts. As a scholar deeply engaged in exploring the intersection of memory and history, Professor Albert's insights are expected to illuminate the ways these narratives influence collective identity and historical awareness.

The session will be chaired by Professor Akanmu Adebayo, also a distinguished FNAL member and an academic at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, USA. Together, they will lead an enriching discussion that invites participants to critically engage with the themes of memory and historiography.

Attendance is open to the public with no prior registration required. Participants can join the conversation by clicking the link below:
