Prominent Nigerians have called on the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities to resolve whatever grievances which has dragged the strike for over two months now.

Governor Babaginda Aliyu in Minna while receiving the UNICEF Country Representative in Nigeria, Mrs. Jane Gough at the government house made this call, blaming the FG for not making serious attempt to resolve the problem.

He advised that government should avoid entering into agreement they cannot fulfill while urging them to implement its agreement with ASUU to save the nation’ university education.

He also called on the ASUU members to reconsider their position and come to a dialogue with the Federal government on the issue.

Mrs. Ritalori Ogbebor while addressing the newsmen on Monday, condemned the prolonged strike stating that the act which aimed at undermining qualitative education could spell doom for the nation.

She disclosed that the ongoing strike had forced some of the undergraduates out of school, with some of them enlisting in street gangs that waste their time in cyber crime.

Ogbebor however calls for the Federal government and ASUU to work out strategies to end the strike for the interest of the students and the nation at large.
