Guinea Schedules Legislative Elections For September 24

It was gathered by CEOAFRICA.com from Guinea that European Union (EU) would deploy 24 members of its electoral observer to the country to monitor the credibility of the forth-coming legislative election scheduled for 24th of September, 2013.

The observer, according to EU mission in Guinea, will assist in assessing the electoral process in the country’s eight provinces. Political parties in the country have embarked on serious campaign to garther support for their candidates.

Sources disclosed that the impending polls are essential in terms of restoring stability in the country which endured a military coup in 2008. A total of 1,800 candidates are expected to contest for the available 114 seats on the day of the election.
