Two New IDPs Camps Established in Maiduguri

Two new camps have been established to house those fleeing into Maiduguri as a result of recent attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has revealed.
With the two newly created camps, the numbers of such established camps are now 12 in the troubled Borno State.

Speaking to our correspondent in Maiduguri, the information officer of the North-east zonal office of the agency, Mallam AbdulKadir Ibrahim, said the newly established camps in the heart of Maiduguri are at the Madinatu Muslim League which hosts 1,905 IDPs from Baga and Mohammed Goni College of Islamic and Legal Studies hosting 1,500 IDPs from Mobbar.
With the latest addition, the numbers of IDPs established camps in Borno State have risen to 108,473.

Those in other camps include Government Girls Secondary School, Biu (493), Government College, Maiduguri (18011), Teachers Village (6558), Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) Secretariat, Maiduguri (26576), Sanda Kyarimi (5340), NYSC camp (6608), Arabic Teachers College (17331), Women Teachers College (4164), Government Girls College (14148) and Yerea Government Secondary School (5839).
