The President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday called on the states of the federation to Oyo State in its  transformation programmes and empowerment of thousands of youth. The President who spoke through the Special Adviser on Social Development  MattersSpecial Duties, Mrs Sarah Pane in Ibadan during an evaluation of social development, noted that the present administration in the state had empowered the youth through his Youth Empowerment Scheme tagged Yes-O.

According to her, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has put his priorities right in the state  by setting up various acquisition skills for unemployed youth in the state. She said the evaluation should have been carried out in all the 36 states in the country, but President Goodluck Jonathan only approved a state each in the six geo-political zones in the country. The team which had earlier visited a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Dejo Raimi disclosed that after the evaluation, it would come up with policy papers that would outlive the current administration.

Responding, Governor Ajimobi who listed some of his programmes in health, education and other sectors, lamented that his administration met the state in total infrastructural decay but expressed happiness that since he came on board in 2011, the pacesetter status and lost glory of the state are being gradually restored.

In his bid to repositioning the state, he hinted that his administration had introduced mobile clinic and treated over 750, 000, rehabilitated clinics and procured drugs and ambulance services to residents in the state. In addition, the governor said over 5,000 women were trained and given loans. He described the evaluation as very encouraging and indication that the Federal Government was ready to partner with states in their developmental programmes.
