American rapper Taymor McIntyre also known as Tay-K has been sentenced to 80 years in prison on account of murder.
The rapper was convicted after being found guilty by the Jury for shooting and killing a man named Mark Anthony Saldivar.
The rapper, Tay-K who was initially serving a 55-year jail term for a fatal shooting is now facing life in prison with the possibility of parole.
The prosecutors of the case accused Tay-K of shooting Saldivar in an attempt to rob him.
Tay-K is facing life in prison with the possibility of parole for killing the 23-year-old in 2017.
But Tay-K’s lawyers questioned the investigation made by the police and insisted that the case relied too much on self-serving statements from witnesses at the time of the incident.
“Taymor McIntyre is not guilty of capital murder, murder, or manslaughter, and the reason for that is very simple. You have to do it right. You have to do the work. And this case clearly demonstrates the work wasn’t done,” John Hunter, one of McIntyre’s attorneys, stated while closing the arguments.
The Jury found Tay-K not guilty of a capital murder, which would have resulted in a life sentence without the chance of parole.
