Tinubu swears in INEC commissioners, CCB board members

President Bola Tinubu has administered the oath of office to two National Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission: Abdulrazak Tukur, representing the North West region and Sunday Aja from Ebonyi State, representing the South East Zone.

This followed their nomination last November and subsequent screening by the Senate.

The brief ceremony was held at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, before the commencement of the 27th Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ikpeme Ndem from Cross River State and Justice Buba Nyaure from Taraba State were sworn in as members of the Code of Conduct Bureau.

Afterwards, the Council entered into a closed-door session.

Attending today’s meeting are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Also present are the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, among others.

At its last meeting on May 5, the Council approved the Renewed Hope Nigeria-First Policy aimed at prioritising the use of locally produced goods and services in all government procurement processes.
