In a significant step towards advancing the mission of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), the FCT Branch held its Special Bimonthly General Meeting on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Par Excellence Waterfalls Garden and Park in Wuse Zone 5. The meeting culminated in the election of a new executive committee tasked with steering the affairs of the branch for the next three years.
Pharm. Chimaeze Precious Maduekwe, MAW, DCPharm, FPSN, emerged as the newly elected Chairman, confidently accepting the mandate from his fellow pharmacists. In his acceptance speech, Chairman Maduekwe expressed profound gratitude for the trust placed in him, emphasizing that the role of leadership is not merely a position but a sacred responsibility he intends to uphold with integrity and dedication.
“My administration will be anchored on the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity,” he declared, pledging to ensure that every policy and decision undergoes thorough scrutiny. In response to the financial challenges faced by members, Maduekwe announced an immediate downward review of the professional defense levy, acknowledging the need for policies that support the economic wellbeing of pharmacists.
Additionally, he committed to conducting a comprehensive audit of the ACPN FCT Branch accounts, ensuring financial integrity and accountability in line with directives from the ACPN National Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Council (NEC).
Pharm. Maduekwe further emphasized the importance of unity within the association, stating, “The strength of any association lies in its unity.” He advocated for respect for both the ACPN Constitution and constituted authorities, fostering an environment where every member feels valued and heard.
Welfare emerged as a top priority in his vision for the new leadership. “We will implement programs aimed at enhancing professional development opportunities, advocating for better working conditions, and supporting both young pharmacists and seasoned practitioners,” remarked Maduekwe, reaffirming his commitment to the wellbeing of all members.
As he concluded his speech, Pharm. Maduekwe rallied his fellow pharmacists to unite for the collective advancement of the branch. “Let us march into this new chapter with hope, unity, and a shared vision for excellence,” he inspired, inviting contributions and ideas from all members in shaping the path forward.
Alongside Pharm. Maduekwe, the newly elected executive committee includes:

· Pharm. Kingsley Cyprian Ngong as Financial Secretary
· Pharm. Chima Nweze as Publicity Secretary
