With just 60 days remaining until the 44th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), excitement continues to build as we anticipate a gathering rich in knowledge, collaboration, and innovation. Today, we pause to honor the remarkable life and contributions of Clement Akpamgbo SAN, a distinguished Nigerian lawyer and former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

Born in Onitsha, Anambra State, Clement Akpamgbo played a pivotal role in Nigeria's legal landscape during a critical period in the nation’s history. Serving as Attorney General from 1991 to 1993, he was an integral part of Nigeria's transition from military rule to a democratic government. Prior to this influential ministerial position, Akpamgbo was the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, where he demonstrated his commitment to legal excellence and reform.

Becoming a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 1985 after two decades of teaching and practicing law, Akpamgbo was dedicated not only to his profession but also to public service. He was a key architect in laying the foundation for the establishment of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), a critical institution in Nigeria’s fight against drug trafficking and abuse. His contributions extended to improving the welfare of judges and magistrates, as he prepared a comprehensive welfare package that significantly enhanced conditions within the judicial system.

As we gear up for "IFEADIGO 2025," scheduled from July 22 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka, Anambra, the theme—“Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice”—aligns closely with the legacy of leaders like Akpamgbo. His efforts to improve institutional frameworks reflect the transformative potential that can arise from dedicated civic engagement and legal reforms.

Anambra State symbolizes progress and enlightenment, often referred to as the “light of the nation.” The term “IFEADIGO” translates to “light has come,” capturing the essence of hope and advancement that this conference aims to deliver.

As we move closer to "IFEADIGO 2025," let us be inspired by the legacy of Clement Akpamgbo and others who have significantly impacted our society. The conference promises to be a platform for innovative ideas and impactful discussions that align with the spirit of excellence that characters both Anambra State and the healthcare community. Stay tuned for more updates as we celebrate our heritage and prepare for an exceptional event!
