The family of Chief (Engr.) Olufemi Alao warmly welcomed friends and well-wishers for a grand celebration on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The event honored his milestone 60th birthday and marked his 28th wedding anniversary.

The gathering took place at the Oritamefa Baptist Church, Ibadan, and was graced by a distinguished array of dignitaries, including esteemed academics, doctors, professors, chiefs and guests who traveled from various locations outside Ibadan in Oyo State.

The event provided a meaningful space for attendees to express gratitude and celebrate a remarkable life dedicated to education, mentorship, and community service. As the festivities unfolded, a touching video was showcased featuring heartfelt messages from his children and grandchildren. One of them declared, "We pray that as you celebrate this new year, joy, peace, and favor shall be your portion, and beautiful blessings shall be upon your life."

Another expressed gratitude, stating, "Thank you for your leadership and for being exemplary. Thank you for the many lives you have impacted. As you celebrate this great achievement, the Lord will continue to bless you; may you celebrate many more years in good health."

The microphone was then opened to attendees who eagerly shared their tributes. Chief Olayemi Olugbenga commended the celebrant, saying, "He is a friend to me. We just met about four years ago, and he is a genuinely good man who likes to assist others. He is a complete gentleman and a wonderful father and husband. As you celebrate your birthday, I pray that immense joy and happiness shall be your portion."

General Ogunbiyi Shina, representing the University of Ibadan College of Medicine, said, "On behalf of my family and all of us, I want to say that he is a God-anointed man who freely gives his resources and ideas. He carries your problems as if they are his own, and we have benefited greatly from his kindness. I pray he will celebrate many more years on this earth."

Chief Adegboyega Olagoke remarked, "I met him in 2022. He is such a wonderful and excellent man, always energetic, dynamic, and resourceful. He was with me throughout my campaign for a post. You will spend more years on earth; you won't die young because you have been so good to me and my family."

Chief Adebayo Adelabu said, "To our dear friend, brother, and supporter; he is someone who doesn't discriminate and represents Oyo State in every facet. He is a man of the people and a true professional builder. He has done so much to support me, and we are now like family. As a devoted Christian, I pray that all your efforts for me and my family will not be in vain. God will grant you long life in sound health and abundant prosperity. I also appreciate your wife for being supportive, as he takes his personal hygiene and health seriously."

Alh. Taiwo Akande added, "You have been a blessing to me. Keep being you, and thank you for all that you do. I wish you more life."

In response, the celebrant Chief (Engr.) Olufemi Alao expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, "I want to appreciate Dr. Michael and Dcns. Victoria Alao for putting all of this together. I thank my wife, who has always been supportive. God has been really faithful; I have never lacked anything. I thank everyone for honoring my invitation. To see how blessed I am today, with two deputy governors of Oyo State in attendance, is truly a grace. I thank all my friends and family."

Rev. 'Seun Olawore, in his short exhortation titled "Be Good for Nothing," referencing Exodus 2:16-22, shared, "Moses and Dorcas are great examples of people who were good for nothing in the Bible. They had large hearts and helped others with what little they had, and God rewarded them bountifully. To the celebrant, please keep doing good—people have said a lot about you, which means you have brought smiles to many faces. Sometimes, you may not be the one to receive the reward for your good deeds, but your children and future generations will. There is an eternal reward for those who do good for nothing."

In an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA, Mrs. Alao, the celebrant's wife, expressed her joy, saying, "I feel happy for my husband. I thank God he is healthy and able to celebrate in sound mind. He is a good man and a great provider for his children, no matter what they ask him. I wish him more good health and pray that he ends his life strong and well, leaving a lasting impact."

As the day came to a close, Chief (Engr.) Femi Alao expressed his gratitude once more, stating, "I thank God I am alive to see this day. God has been good to us because, over the past years, we set targets and have exceeded our expectations."

Dignitaries present at the thanksgiving service included Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State; Chief Alake Adeyemo, Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State; Pastor (Prof.) Peter O. Olapegba, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration, University of Ibadan; Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Honorable Minister of Power; Chief Adegboyega Taofeek Olagoke, Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadan Land; Prof. Adeolu Akande, Former ACC Chairman; Prince Abass Alesinloye; Chief Debo Oladejo; Chief Gboyega Adegoke; Hon. Sunday Babalola; Sen. Ayoade Adeseun; Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan, Fmr. Head of Service Oyo State; Chief Lowo Obisesan and Alh. Taiwo Akande.
