The Geneith Health Competition (GHC) serves as a transformative initiative aimed primarily at empowering the youth, specifically students in secondary and tertiary institutions, to become ambassadors in the fight against malaria. Launched by CEOAFRICA, the competition is fully Sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Powered by Coatal Forte Softgel, a gelatin capsule used for the treatment of acute uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in adults and children weighing 35 kg and above.

Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, MD of CEOAFRICA and the initiator of the competition, shared his vision for the program, stating, “The Geneith Health Competition is not just a contest; it’s a movement to engage young minds in the critical battle against malaria. Our goal is to empower these students with knowledge and resources so they can lead their communities in health advocacy and awareness.”

Mr. Emmanuel Umenwa, MD of Geneith Pharmaceuticals and sponsor of the competition, echoed this sentiment, noting, “The vision behind sponsoring the Geneith Health Competition is all about empowering Nigerian youth. They must be at the forefront of the fight against malaria, driving change and raising awareness within their communities. We believe in the potential of our young people to make a real difference.”

The competition offers a structured platform for participants to engage at state, regional, and national levels while raising awareness about malaria prevention and education. With significant cash prizes available at each level, competitors are motivated not only to excel but also to disseminate essential knowledge about malaria prevention strategies across Nigeria.

Registration for the Geneith Health Competition is currently ongoing, and interested students are encouraged to visit (www.geneithhealthcompetition.com) to sign up and participate in this impactful program. Ilobanafor stressed, “We are calling on all eligible students to join us in this important initiative. Together, we can harness the energy and creativity of our youth to combat malaria and improve public health outcomes in our communities.”

The GHC stands as the first of its kind in Africa, embodying a commitment to educate and empower young individuals as future leaders in health advocacy. By engaging students in meaningful conversations and activities surrounding malaria, the initiative aligns with global health goals and reinforces the vital role that youth can play in societal change.

Prince Ilobanafor reiterated the importance of this endeavor, stating, “When we empower our youth, we are investing in a healthier and brighter future. The Geneith Health Competition is an opportunity for students to take ownership of their health and their communities.”

As the competition progresses, the impact of this initiative is expected to resonate across Nigeria, fostering a culture of health awareness and proactive engagement among young people. The Geneith Health Competition not only addresses a pressing public health issue but also cultivates a generation of informed advocates ready to lead the charge against malaria.
