The management and team of CEOAFRICA have joined the global pharmaceutical community to celebrate Dr. Teresa Isichei Pounds, President and Founder of the West African Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (WASPEN), whose birthday comes up every 16th of October.
Dr. Pounds, a distinguished clinical pharmacist and nutrition advocate, has been instrumental in strengthening nutrition awareness and capacity across West Africa through WASPEN’s groundbreaking initiatives and collaborations.
In his goodwill message, the CEO of CEOAFRICA, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, described Dr. Pounds as “a visionary leader whose dedication to improving clinical nutrition has inspired a new generation of healthcare professionals.”
“Dr. Pounds represents the kind of leadership Africa needs — one driven by purpose, compassion, and the commitment to improve lives through knowledge and collaboration,” Ilobanafor said. “On behalf of the CEOAFRICA family, we wish her a joyous birthday and continued success in her global impact.”
Under Dr. Pounds’s leadership, WASPEN has championed key conversations on hospital malnutrition and the integration of nutrition care into Africa’s healthcare systems, making her one of the continent’s most respected voices in pharmaceutical and nutritional sciences.
As she marks another year, CEOAFRICA celebrates her remarkable achievements and prays for more grace, wisdom, and strength to continue transforming lives through her work.
