The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Garden of HOPE Foundation and the Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA), Nze Emmanuel Chidi Ezirim (Onye Omere Na Ndu) has donated a fresh consignment of high-quality drugs to the Owerre-Nkwoji Community Health Centre in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
He made this donation as part of ongoing efforts to improve equitable access to essential medicines in rural communities and to support the facility's growing patient load.
Speaking during the official handover, Nze Ezirim said the gesture was in line with the Foundation’s mission to enhance community health and support vulnerable populations across Nigeria, ensuring that rural communities aren't left behind in accessing safe, reliable and life-saving medications.
“Our commitment at the Garden of HOPE Foundation is to ensure that communities like Owerre-Nkwoji have access to quality healthcare. Health is the foundation of development, and we will continue to support initiatives that uplift our people,” he stated.
“This donation is part of our wider mandate to touch lives and strengthen public health at the grassroots.”
The Garden of HOPE Foundation, known for its humanitarian interventions in health, education and community welfare, has carried out several empowerment and medical outreach programmes across the country. The donation to Owerre-Nkwoji marks another milestone in its ongoing drive to support underserved communities.
Receiving the drugs on behalf of the facility, the Health Officer, Mrs. Joy Ndukwu, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Nze Ezirim and the Foundation for their generosity and sustained dedication to community development.
“We sincerely appreciate Nze Emmanuel Chidi Ezirim and the Garden of HOPE Foundation for this invaluable support,” she said. “I assure you that these drugs will be used judiciously for the benefit of our patients and to enhance healthcare delivery in this community—to the glory of God.”
Mrs. Ndukwu further offered prayers for God’s continued blessings, protection and prosperity upon Nze Ezirim and the Garden of HOPE Foundation, noting that such humanitarian gestures continue to strengthen the health system and uplift the well-being of residents.
The donation comes at a time when many rural health centres are experiencing shortages of essential medicines, making the intervention both timely and impactful for the Owerre-Nkwoji community.
