Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he spotted the individual directing a laser light at him during Nigeria’s 4–1 victory over Gabon in Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying semi-final playoff.
Osimhen netted a brace as Nigeria defeated the Panthers in Morocco.
His teammates Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke were also on the score sheet.
However, laser light was seen on Osimhen’s face after he scored Nigeria’s third goal against Gabon.
Speaking on the development after the game, the Galatasaray attacker confirmed he spotted a fan in the stands trying to distract him with a laser pointer.
“I actually saw the person pointing the laser at me; the person was in the stands,” Osimhen told ESPN UK.
“They know the kind of quality we possess. They are trying to use the laser to distract us. I just keep it moving, I don’t even think about it.”
