President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Kaduna State for the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, with security tightened around the event.

The President was welcomed at the airport by top government officials, security chiefs and prominent APC leaders ahead of the party’s campaign rally.

The APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Director-General of the party’s Presidential Campaign, Abdulaziz Yari, had earlier arrived at the airport to receive the President.

Beyond the campaign flag-off, Tinubu is expected to commission projects and hold meetings with key stakeholders during his visit to the state.

The visit comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with the ruling APC seeking to consolidate its political base and mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Among the prominent opposition figures expected to challenge Tinubu are Peter Obi and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, alongside other presidential contenders.

As the race towards 2027 gathers momentum, the Kaduna event is expected to serve as a major platform for the APC to showcase its political strength and rally supporters behind the President’s second-term ambition.
