Nigeria's Chief -of-Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika
CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the Nigerian Army has ordered the deployment of top ranked officials to the North-West part of the country where Boko Haram insurgencies are on the rise.
According to a statement released from the office of the Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, the deployment was to strengthen the present control of the territory by the Nigerian Army.
This decision was triggered by latest attack in Borno where up to 20 people were killed while many other got injured. CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the terrorist launched the attack in Gajiran Local Government Area of Borno State, killing about 15 people in a market open fire and moved later to a nearby village, Bulabulin Ngawra in Konduga LGA, where 5 other people were also killed.
However Gajiran residents giving their brief on the incident revealed the gunmen pretended to be traders attending a local market before the subsequent attack.
It would be recalled that Federal Government of Nigeria declared state of emergency few months ago in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States where Boko Haran gained prominence. Since then, the Army has curbed, to a large extent, the activities of the group, by killing some of its top members.
