The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, hosted a vibrant Gala Night as part of activities marking its 98th Annual National Conference, DABO 2025, in Kano.

The glamorous evening blended professional camaraderie with the rich cultural heritage of the ancient city, offering delegates an immersive taste of Kano’s beauty, hospitality, and artistry.

Held in a breathtakingly decorated venue, the Gala Night featured captivating traditional performances, gracefully choreographed dances, and a showcase of Kano’s finest cuisine — all of which left guests visibly delighted as they unwound after days of intensive conference sessions.

The event gathered pharmacists, industry leaders, policy influencers, academics, and dignitaries from across Nigeria and the diaspora. Among those in attendance were the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Prof. Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, Director General, Primary Healthcare Management, Kano; PSN President, Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim; Past President, Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai; President, NAPPSA, Pharm. Kunle Tometi; President/Founder, WASPEN, Dr. Teresa Isichei Pounds; Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola; Chairperson, PCN Governing Council, Hajiya Wosilat O. Giwa; and the Registrar, PCN, Pharm. Ibrahim Babasheu, among several other distinguished guests.

Representing the Governor of Kano State, Prof. Ibrahim praised the PSN for choosing Kano as host city and highlighted the giant strides recorded by the administration, especially in strengthening the healthcare sector.

“This government has made remarkable progress in improving healthcare infrastructure and access across the state. We are committed to expanding our partnership with bodies like the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria to further enhance the quality of healthcare delivery to our people,” he stated.

Also speaking, President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, described the Gala Night as a spectacular celebration, applauding the abundance of food, the impressive cultural display, and the warm hospitality extended to guests.

“Tonight has been nothing short of magnificent. The ambiance, the cuisine, the music, the cultural richness — everything came together beautifully. I must especially commend Pharm. Murtala Umar, Chairman, PSN Kano State, and the entire local organizing committee for putting together such an unforgettable experience,” he said.

The night continued with lively entertainment, networking, and moments of laughter as guests danced, bonded, and captured memories reflective of the unity and vibrancy within the pharmacy community.
