The Christian Pharmacists Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) held a deeply inspiring and spirit-filled fellowship in the early hours of Wednesday, November 5, 2025, during the 98th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), DABO 2025, in Kano.
The early-morning gathering, held just before the day’s conference activities commenced, brought together pharmacists, CPFN members from across the country, past leaders of the fellowship, and other Christian delegates who assembled to pray, worship, and commit the proceedings of the conference—as well as their personal lives—into God’s hands.
Like every CPFN fellowship session, the atmosphere was marked by heartfelt prayers, worship songs, and words of encouragement. Members interceded for the conference, their colleagues, their families, their patients, and the pharmacy profession at large, seeking God’s presence and direction for the days ahead.
The session featured a powerful testimony from Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, who shared her personal story of God’s faithfulness, especially during her tenure as the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University. She recounted moments where divine strength and guidance sustained her, emphasizing the blessings that come from trusting and serving God wholeheartedly.
Responding immediately after her testimony, the founding President of CPFN, Prof. Wilson Erhun, encouraged members not to underestimate the power of fellowship and consistent devotion to God.
“What we have heard today is a reminder that God rewards those who trust Him. Our fellowship has always stood on this truth: when pharmacists commit their work, their families, and this profession to God, He shows up in ways we cannot explain. CPFN will continue to be a place of strength, a place of spiritual renewal, and a reminder that God is faithful,” he said.
The morning gathering progressed with prayers of thanksgiving, a short sermon, vibrant praise and worship, and uplifting hymns that set a joyful tone for the rest of the conference activities.
In an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA, Pharm. (Sir) Ike Onyechi, MD/CEO of Alpha Pharmacy and a past president of the fellowship, reflected on CPFN’s journey since inception.
“The fellowship was founded by Prof. Wilson Erhun, and we’ve been at it for over 20 years now. We started by praying quietly in our hotel rooms, then gradually moved to any free space we could find in the conference hall. We sit together, we walk around the premises, we make declarations, and we call on the Spirit of God to guide our members and give us a successful conference.
This fellowship exists to pray for pharmacy, for pharmacists, for their work, their families, and our patients. And this 98th conference is one of the biggest turnouts we’ve ever had at our outreach fellowship,” he shared.
Attendees described the fellowship as refreshing, energizing, and spiritually grounding—an early-morning encounter that positioned them for a productive conference day and strengthened their bond as believers within the pharmacy profession.
The CPFN fellowship remains an unforgettable highlight of DABO 2025, echoing its long-standing commitment to nurturing spiritual growth among pharmacists and reaffirming that faith continues to play a vital role in service, leadership, and professional fulfillment.
