The Provost of the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, Dr. Ibrahim Abdulganiyu, has extended heartfelt condolences to Prince Cletus Ilobanafor and the entire Ilobanafor family over the passing of their patriarch, Pa. Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor, who passed on June 22 at the age of 93.
In a message issued on behalf of the management, staff, and students of the college, Dr. Abdulganiyu described Pa. Ilobanafor as a man whose long and impactful life was marked by integrity, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family, community, and faith.
“We mourn the departure of our beloved father, Pa. Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor, who slept in the Lord at the graceful age of 93,” Dr. Abdulganiyu stated. “He lived a life defined by exemplary character and quiet strength—qualities that shaped not only his household but everyone who encountered him.”
He further noted that Pa. Ilobanafor’s life was “a testament to divine favour, marked by service, sacrifice, and the joy of witnessing his children excel.”
Reflecting on Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, Dr. Abdulganiyu added that the values evident in his leadership and conduct mirror the enduring imprint of a principled father. “In Prince Cletus, we see the discipline, vision, and commitment to excellence that Baba instilled,” he said.
While acknowledging the deep void left by his passing, Dr. Abdulganiyu expressed hope in the comfort of eternal rest in Christ.
“We take solace in the assurance that he now rests in the eternal peace of Christ,” he said. “May God console the Ilobanafor family, strengthen them in this period of grief, and grant them the grace to celebrate a life well lived.”
He prayed for the peaceful repose of Pa. Ilobanafor’s soul.
