As the year draws to a close and the world pauses to mark Christmas and the dawn of a New Year, the President of the Rite Place Institute for Leadership and Strategy, Pharm. Dr. Chekwumezie Okolo, has called on individuals, institutions, and leaders to embrace the season as a time for deep reflection, renewed purpose, and responsible action.
According to Dr. Okolo, Christmas offers more than celebration; it is “a reminder of the power of humility, service, and sacrifice — values that define true leadership.” He noted that in a time marked by uncertainty and rapid change, society needs leaders who are grounded in ethical principles and committed to people-centred development.
Looking ahead to 2026, the leadership expert emphasized the need for intentional growth and strategic thinking. “A new year is not just a change of calendar,” he said, “it is an opportunity to reset priorities, sharpen vision, and recommit to building systems that serve humanity sustainably.” He encouraged professionals, young leaders, and decision-makers to see the coming year as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and impact.
Dr. Okolo also urged Nigerians and the global community to approach the festive period with gratitude and responsibility, stressing that leadership begins with personal discipline and service to others. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Rite Place Institute for Leadership and Strategy to nurturing principled leaders equipped to navigate complex social, economic, and governance challenges.
He concluded with a message of hope: “May this Christmas season bring peace to our hearts and clarity to our purpose, and may 2026 unfold as a year of progress, wisdom, and meaningful leadership.” He wished everyone a joyful Christmas and a purposeful, prosperous New Year.
