According to a report from Western Bahr el Ghazal State in South Sudan, at least 70 homes and the only health centre in the Raja County located in the state have been destroyed by heavy rain.
CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the health centre was flooded and Raja County Commissioner Hassan Jalaab Khadaam said the county does not have the money to repair it.
Meanwhile, no one died in the flood, but families without shelter faces an increased risk of disease, especially malaria.
Speaking about the incident, South Sudan Red Cross State Chairman Leon Archangelo said temporary shelter has been provided for displaced families, but there are more areas to cover.
“Frankly speaking, the donations we have are not enough, based on the reality on the ground. We gave them only shelter assistance. But in general these people might need food items because their farms will not produce the products that they were expecting or some of the farms will not produce at all," he said.
